Types of Licenses

Licenses in Dubai Internet City cover the following business segments:

An applicant can select up to five activities within one segment to be included in the license.

Forms of Companies
  • Free Zone Limited Liability Company (FZ-LLC);

Share Capital

The minimum share capital for FZ-LLCs is 50,000 AED (approximately 13,600 USD).

A company can be 100% owned by foreign shareholders.

Director and Manager

A company must have at least one director and one general manager (both individuals).

Physical Office

Companies must have a registered and physical office within the free zone. DIC offers a wide range of commercial premises and co-working spaces to accommodate companies and freelancers.

Financial Statements and Audit

Companies in Dubai Internet City must annually prepare and submit audited financial statements through the electronic portal.

Taxation of Profits

Companies must register for corporate tax and submit tax returns.

Companies that are “Qualifying Free Zone Persons” are entitled to benefit from a zero corporate tax rate on their “qualifying” income.

Annual Renewal

A company’s annual expenses include:

  • license renewal;
  • office lease renewal;
  • financial statements and audit;
  • establishment card and residence visa renewal (as they expire);
  • corporate service provider’s fees.
Redomiciliation

A foreign company may continue to operate as a free zone company in Dubai Internet City. Similarly, a company may redomicile from DIC to another jurisdiction subject to the Registrar’s prior permission.
